Gandhinagar has many schools and colleges. It is one of the major education hubs of Gujarat. Gujarat Govt. has decided to transform Gandhinagar into knowledge corridor. Recently Indian Institute of Technology (one of the premier technological university system in India) has been established in Gandhinagar, known as IIT Gandhinagar (IITGn). The institute is functioning from Vishwakarma Government Engineering College Complex until the new complex become ready
